About me

Hi! I'm Kinga

I invite you to discover the most beautiful surfing spots in the world.

Why surfing?

The birthplace of the surfing lifestyle

I’ve always dreamt of taking up this sport, which is what prompted me to go to California – the birthplace of the surfing lifestyle. It was there that I tried surfing for the first time in my life and fell completely in love with it.

A year later, in 2015, I flew to Portugal for a surf camp. As luck would have it, I ended up at a hostel in Peniche owned by Rodrigo. Neither of us could have imagined back then that, a few years later, we’d be creating Surfstories together. We surfed, explored the beaches and cliffs, and partied in beach bars in the evenings.

This little surfing town by the ocean stole my heart – even back then, I was secretly dreaming of living here.

About my love – surfing trips

The best waves in the world

Ever since then, I’ve planned every May bank holiday and summer holiday around places with the best waves. As well as California, I’ve visited Indonesia, Costa Rica, the Canary Islands, the south-west coast of France, northern Spain and Sri Lanka. I’ve returned to each of these places several times – surfing, getting to know the local culture and making friends and connections.

Once, when I was still studying in Kraków, I had the idea of getting a job at a surf camp and moving to Portugal for the whole season. No sooner had I thought of it than I’d done it – a moment later I was already on a plane.

It wasn’t always easy – I worked in a hotel, making breakfast from dawn and cleaning in 40-degree heat. But all those experiences have shaped me!

How did Surfstories come about?

The realisation that changed everything

After a year working in an office, I quit my job and set off on my first solo trip to Sri Lanka. I remember that New Year’s Eve, when I cried with happiness at the thought that I wouldn’t have to go back to that company. I felt that big changes were on the horizon.

Surfstories was launched on 1 December 2020 – just as I was about to start work at a financial corporation. I was lying in the bath, getting ready for an interview with HR, when I realised that this wasn’t the right path for me. Years of travelling had given me loads of contacts – I’d be a fool not to make the most of them.

Over the years, I’ve organised hundreds of surf camps – mainly in Portugal, but also in Sri Lanka, Costa Rica and Morocco. And we’ve got another summer season in Portugal and a winter season in Sri Lanka coming up!

Surfing is just part of the adventure!

More than just sport

My dream was to turn my passion for surfing into unforgettable adventures. On my trips, we combine surfing with exploring the local culture and cuisine. I always show my guests my favourite surfing destinations in a way that’s a little off the beaten track.

Surfing gives you an incredible sense of freedom and a burst of energy to last the whole day. The wind in your hair, the sea breeze and the rolling waves beneath your feet – it’s an experience that’s impossible to describe. I believe that surfing is more than just a sport – it’s a way of life.

My dream is that, after every camp, you’ll leave not only with improved skills, but also with memories that will last a lifetime, new friends and the feeling that every day should be just like this.
